Smart Cycling Clinics

Smart Cycling Clinics are one-hour sessions designed for new, occasional, or potential bicycle commuters. Attending a clinic will help you feel more comfortable cycling in traffic and gain the fitness benefits of making trips by bike. If you want to be a safer, more knowledgeable cyclist, plan on attending! The clinic briefly covers basic bicycle education material in a power point presentation and offers an opportunity for questions and answers. Instructors are certified through the League of American Bicyclists.

Riding buddies
When you're new to bicycle commuting, it can be a great confidence booster to ride with someone more experienced the first time out. Contact us and we'll find an experienced commuter to test ride your route with you.

Traffic cycling course
Are you worried about riding in traffic? Do you find yourself riding on sidewalks because you're afraid to ride on the road? This class is for you: you will learn how to operate a bicycle effectively in a variety of situations.
Everyone who drives a car legally in this country must learn rules of the road and vehicle operation. Learning how to ride a bicycle safely is just as important. This class will teach you about vehicular cycling: “driving” your bike confidently in traffic, creating space and communicating with drivers.
Learn to commute confidently, to communicate quickly and clearly with drivers, to understand and avoid collisions. And learn how to maintain your brakes and gears, fix a flat, and plan your route.
Suitable for novice and advanced cyclists looking to widen their skills, this 8-hour course includes 5 hours of on-road instruction, leads to the “Road I” certificate from the League of American Bicyclists, and will be taught by a certified cycling instructor.
E-mail foothillcycling@yahoo.com to put your name on the interest list for this course.
